Towercom, a.s. provides radio broadcasting all over Slovakia. In addition to public radio broadcasting services, we also provide services to commercial radio licence holders.
Transmission of analogue radio signals is carry out by AM broadcasting in the MW and SW bands and by FM broadcasting in the USW band including RDS services. Radio broadcasting is effected also by digital satellite broadcasting on the Skylink platform..
In accordance with ongoing broadcasting digitalization trends, in Europe, in March 2006 Towercom, a.s., together with its technological partners, conducted a testing operation of the first digital radio broadcast in Slovakia using the DRM system in the MW band.
Since 2004, a pilot operation, with transmitting radio broadcasting, using DVB-T standard has taken place.
Towercom, a.s. provides also distribution of igital modulation of the radio signal via its own radio relay routes and via the Astra 3A satellite with European coverage.
