Interesting facts

Interesting facts

The transmitter is located near Kurínec, a state nature reserve. The history of the construction goes back to 1952, testing operation started in 1956.

Shortwave broadcasting from Rimavská Sobota was designed for almost the whole world. After the reconstruction in 1983 a new middle wave hall was created where Tesla SRV 2 x 25kW transmitter was placed and consequently Tesla SRV 2 x 10kW another transmitter was added.

Operation of technical equipment (filters) enabling the connection of all these three SV transmitters transmitting on three different frequencies into one antenna made of 102 meters high iron lattice mast was an interesting and rare operation in the whole Europe.

After having set the antenna VF energy leaves the building to a symmetrical 300 Ohn connector all the way to the antenna.
