Interesting facts

Television tower is situated in the area called Koliba, it is the highest construction of the capital city of Bratislava. On the top of the tower which is 70 m high, there is a rotating restaurant with the most beautiful panoramic view of the city and surrounding states.

The construction of Kamzik tower started in 1967 and the construction was terminated in 1975. For that period of time it was a very brave extraordinary architectural constructional and functional solution of the collective of authors: Májek, Tomašák, Jurica, Kozák, Privitzer.

The shape of the tower is insipred by a bottle given the fact that the tower is located in a vineyard area.

The spine of the tower is made of concrete steel base with an intersection of 7x7 m, built-in stairway and two lift wells. The construction continues by a pipe made of steel with a diameter of 3m, the pipe is 79,5m long, it is connected by means of a pipe made of fibreglass laminate which is  20,5m long.

The concrete steel base is constructed on an octagonal base reaching to the depth of 2 stores and rests on a massive granite background.
